Brand Name: TAMOL-X TRAMADOL
Generic Name: Tramadol hydrochloride
Strength & Packaging: 100 × 100 mg tablets

Description
Tramadol hydrochloride is a centrally acting opioid analgesic indicated for the management of pain severe enough to require an opioid analgesic when alternative treatments are inadequate. It has dual analgesic activity and should be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.

Indications
Tramadol hydrochloride tablets are indicated for the management of pain in adults when an opioid analgesic is appropriate and other treatment options are insufficient. Approved indications may vary by market and product labeling.

Dosage & Administration
Dosage should be individualized based on pain severity, prior treatment, and patient risk factors. Standard adult oral dosing references commonly describe 50 mg to 100 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed, with a usual maximum of 400 mg per day for immediate-release formulations in appropriate adults. Administration should follow the prescriber’s instructions and local approved labeling.

Mechanism of Action
Tramadol produces analgesia through a dual mechanism: it acts as a mu-opioid receptor agonist and also inhibits reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, which contributes to pain relief.

Precautions
Tramadol carries significant risks including respiratory depression, misuse, abuse, addiction, dependence, and withdrawal. It should be used with caution in patients with respiratory disease, seizure risk, hepatic or renal impairment, head injury, or those taking other central nervous system depressants or serotonergic medicines. Concomitant use with alcohol, benzodiazepines, or other opioids may increase the risk of serious adverse effects.

Side Effects
Common adverse effects may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, headache, and dry mouth. More serious adverse reactions may include respiratory depression, seizures, serotonin syndrome, and dependence-related effects.

Storage
Store at controlled room temperature, protected from excessive heat, light, and moisture. Keep the product in a secure place and out of reach of children. Storage should follow the manufacturer’s labeling and local regulatory requirements.
