Description
Kamagra Oral Jelly contains sildenafil citrate, a PDE5 inhibitor used to support erectile function in adult men with erectile dysfunction (ED). Sildenafil works by enhancing blood flow to penile tissue during sexual stimulation and does not produce an erection in the absence of sexual arousal.
Indications
Indicated for:
Treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men
Support of erectile response when sexual stimulation is present.
Dosage & Administration
Administration: Oral use, as directed by a qualified prescriber.
For sildenafil used for ED, official prescribing information recommends 50 mg taken as needed approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. It may be taken 30 minutes to 4 hours before sexual activity, with dose adjustment to 25 mg or 100 mg based on response and tolerability. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once daily. Since Kamagra Oral Jelly is a branded jelly presentation rather than the tablet formulation described in U.S. labeling, product-specific use should follow the supplied pack insert and prescriber instructions.
Mechanism of Action
The physiologic mechanism of erection involves release of nitric oxide (NO) in the corpus cavernosum during sexual stimulation. NO increases cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), producing smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood inflow. Sildenafil enhances this effect by inhibiting PDE5, the enzyme responsible for cGMP breakdown. At recommended doses, sildenafil has no effect without sexual stimulation.
Precautions
Important precautions:
Contraindicated with nitrates or nitrites because sildenafil can potentiate their blood-pressure-lowering effect
Contraindicated with guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat
Use caution in patients for whom sexual activity is inadvisable due to cardiovascular status
Use caution with alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, ritonavir, and other strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
Seek urgent medical attention for erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision loss, or sudden hearing decrease/loss.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include:
Headache
Flushing
Dyspepsia
Abnormal vision
Nasal congestion
Back pain
Myalgia
Nausea
Dizziness
Rash
